NS2 trace analyzer NS-NAM is mostly used and there is another analyzer based on JAVA people do not know about it. But here I am telling about how to read ns2 trace files by a software . A software name as Jtarana can be used and it will generate nearly all kind of graphs and statics its easier than other tools such as Gnuplot.

It is a JAVA file unrar the file .

install JDK1.4, MY.SQL .

Assign MY-SQL with

Username: root
Password: root

this will be use by Jtrana as login id and password.

go to File > open > *.tr

it will read whole ns2 generated trace file and generate different graphs for throughput, end-to-end delay and many other.








I use it but personally I feel that the software is very slow, it is reading 2Mb file in 10minutes ( in my case ) and for 20Mb file it was 100 minutes, not just  that after successfully reading of file when it generates graph it becomes much slower but it shows correct readings and excellent graphs.
